Behind the Bread – Nadia Graham at Millstream Village

October 21st, 2011 - Real People

Nadia Graham is the owner of COBS Millstream Village in Langford, BC. Nadia is passionate about her business and the community she does business in.

What inspired you to join the COBS Bread family?

I wanted to have my own business instead of working for a corporation. It’s great to have your business close to home and the Millstream Village bakery location worked well for me.

What did you do before becoming a Franchisee?

I was the Manager for a casino.

What do you enjoy the most about being a Franchisee?

While there are still policies to follow, I enjoy being able to make my own decisions.

If you could invite three people to dinner who would they be?

It would be my 3 closest friends.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I like to exercise and spend time with my kids. However, I don’t have a lot of spare time because I work in the bakery a lot. Finding a work life balance his has been harder than I thought it would be.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

I wanted to be a veterinarian.

I love animals.

Please give some background information on the charity your bakery currently donates end of day products to?

Most of our End of Day products go to Work Link. They help get individuals back into work. We also give to a Baptist church and the local food bank.

How does your bakery stay involved with your local community?

We participate in school events and provide products if there’s a local BBQ event. There are also a few specific individuals in our community who are ill and, through hosting BBQs, we raise money to help them get treatment.
